I'm passionate about educating people about their health - it's a lifestyle choice! My aim is to provide you with the information and care you need to get back on track doing what you love. Healthcare should not be a chore, the best results are achieved when we enjoy what we do. Digestion & Stress

Miranda is hard working, driven and motivated. She finds she's awake at night thinking about her 'to-do' list. She's 'wired but tired'', living on adrenalin and coffee to get through the day.

Miranda often skips meals and eats on the run. She tries not to eat heavy meals as these cause digestive discomfort. She was previously diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome and she thinks she may have food sensitivities. She has tried strict diets but these just add to her stress. Miranda has other symptoms she thinks could related to stress, such as headaches, tension, PMS and painful periods.

Miranda has always been a hard worker with plenty of get-up-and-go, but the long days and lack of sleep are starting to catch up. Miranda wants to focus on her mind-body health and needs a plan that is easy to follow and doesn't require fancy menus - she's not a foodie and has little preparation time after work.

Miranda commenced a digestive health program with a meal plan designed to suit her busy lifestyle. Miranda's personalised program also included a lifestyle and sleep hygiene component - and some TLC for her nervous and reproductive systems.

Miranda found that a little 'me time' goes a long way to getting things done!

Weight  & Hormone Imbalance

Samantha is a go-getter, she's passionate about life … and food! She works hard at her career but keeps irregular hours. She squeezes in the gym at every opportunity. She loves her busy social and work life, but it can spin out of control- just like her menstrual cycle which is also irregular. When Samantha hits the gym she feels exhausted rather than invigorated afterwards.

Samantha finds her irregular eating habits leave her experiencing emotional highs and lows. Whilst she's always 'watching her weight' she can't resist a sweet treat - especially in the afternoon when her energy 'hits a wall' . She's worried that years of 'yo-yo' dieting is playing havoc with her metabolism and hormones. She's eating less but gaining weight!

Samantha's heard about insulin resistance and how this can lead to diabetes - she definitely experiences sugar 'highs'. She wonders it's related to her menstrual irregularities and mood swings. Samantha's worried her lifestyle might be setting her up for more hormone-related problems in the future.

In typical Samantha form - she has a lot going on! It's important that Samantha is under the guidance of a qualified health professional for her weight-management, and that's where I 'm able to assist.

Samantha would also benefit from tracking her menstrual cycle which can be used to measure how stress and other hormone imbalances impact her health. For Samantha, as her health improves, her menstrual cycle may become more regular. Regardless, cycle tracking is an excellent way for Samantha to keep a record of her reproductive symptoms, especially if she needs a referral to another physician.

Samantha's current fitness regime is leaving her feeling exhausted. She needs a program that helps provide mental clarity and boost her energy and metabolism without creating unnecessary stress. A few practical mindfulness techniques will also help calm her mind and maintain her joie de vivre for years to come!

Fertility

Charlotte is an earth mother! She wants to learn fertility charting as she understands the importance of a healthy menstrual cycle for conception. She has been using fertility tracking apps to predict ovulation, but has found they are unreliable as every month her cycle length and fertility signs are slightly different. Charlotte is concerned that she may be infertile and the more she worries, the more irregular her menstrual cycle becomes. She's losing faith in the accuracy of her charting technique and visits the doctor.

After trying to conceive for six months Charlotte was dismayed, she'd been eating well and doing all the research - it was starting to get her down. Her doctor suggested she may need to consider IVF treatment. But first, he recommended she see a qualified teacher in the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) to help her identify ovulation correctly without the need for expensive or invasive tests. He had heard that fertility apps were pretty inaccurate at predicting ovulation, but that FAM used correctly was extremely accurate.

Charlotte's doctor also recommended she consult with a nutritionist trained in preconception care to receive a nutrition plan for her specific health needs. This was important he said, as she should avoid unnecessary stress whilst trying to conceive. He'd noticed Charlotte was becoming overwhelmed with all the information 'out there'.

Charlotte was referred to a trained FAM teacher and preconception nutritionist. After her initial consultation she was on her way! Charlotte was excited to began the 'learning phase' of the FAM program. The FAM 'learning phase' of approximately 3 months helped Charlotte identify her 'fertile window' . Charlotte felt more confident using FAM and tracking her menstrual cycle as she was receiving professional appraisals of her charting technique throughout the entire process.

Charlotte was confident she could now take charge of her fertility. What's more she'd learnt a technique that she could use to chart her health for years to come.

Living Mindfully

Carrie is a free spirit. She believes her body is ‘her temple’. She loves yoga and is conscientious about her nutrition and wellbeing. Carrie’s on a journey of self-discovery, she loves journaling as this helps her to reflect on the relationship between her mind and body. However, she finds her thoughts can run away from her and before she realises it, she’s ‘down the rabbit hole’. She can get distracted and find it difficult to focus on tasks at hand.

Carrie loves being sensitive and empathic, it helps her in her creative work, but she needs to find a balance between having her head in the clouds and feet on the ground. She firmly believes that where the mind goes the body follows. Carrie wants to learn mindfulness techniques so she can find a healthy mind-body balance. She’s read meditation is even more effective than yoga for improving focus, clarity and creativity, whilst also reducing anxiety and mind chatter.

Carrie has tried various apps but wants  to learn from an instructor and have a personalised program. Carrie started a mindfulness program with me that involved weekly online sessions, at a time of day where she could unwind and be totally free from distractions.

After the initial program, she decided to keep a monthly membership, which meant she could continue her sessions indefinitely. Carrie loved the addition of these personal sessions to her weekly routine, it even helped her get more out of her yoga classes. These flexible ‘in the moment’ weekly sessions sometimes would start with a discussion about her week and the challenges she experienced and end with a mindful exercise, or the entire session would be dedicated to a guided meditation.

Carrie found her creativity and productivity flourished as she became more ‘present’. Her senses became heightened as she spent more time ‘in the moment’. She learned techniques she could use anywhere, any time, and found a new sense of calm in her daily life.
